Frogmore House, Market Drayton – Food and Retail Development

Frogmore House is a Town Centre retail development, adjacent to the central car park in Market Drayton, comprising 3902 m²  (42,000 sq.ft) of retail accommodation. An extension to public car park, provision of a new loading bay and the creation of a new public square was also initialised.

J-Ross Developments Ltd successfully implemented the project through acquiring complex land assembly which was needed to piece together the site from over five different land ownerships and resolve rights of way and legal title issues. The site occupied a strategically important location within the historic Town Centre conservation area and required a sensitive design approach in order to resolve the challenging planning issues.

A comprehensive pre-application consultation was carried out in conjunction with the key stakeholders in the town, including the District and Town Councils, Chamber of Commerce and Civic Society to specifically address their concerns prior to the submission of the planning application.

A strong partnering was adopted with North Shropshire District Council to deliver a complete refurbishment of the Town Centre car park, which would increase the number of spaces and importantly improve the access, egress and circulation. In addition to this the new scheme provided the opportunity to create a new public square in front of the Town Hall improving the public amenity in the centre of town.

J-Ross Developments successfully delivered the project ensuring the retail units were configured to meet the exacting requirements of both Wilkinsons and Argos which provided the appropriate servicing, storage and plant room areas.
